Fascial is not a typo. It is the word for the layer under your skin that shapes how your face sits.

Facial or fascial: the short answer
“Facial” is about the face. “Fascial” means relating to the fascia, the connective tissue under your skin. A fascia facial is a facial that works with that layer by hand, for visible lift and contour, rather than working only on the skin’s surface.
What fascia is, and why it shapes how your face looks
Fascia is a continuous web of collagen and elastin that wraps every muscle and gives the face its shape. It sits between your skin and the muscles beneath it, and it decides how the skin above it sits and moves.
When fascia is held and tight, the face can read heavier, flatter or more tired than you feel. When it is softened and well hydrated, it glides more freely, and your features look more lifted and at ease.
No serum reaches this layer. Hands do.
What happens in a fascia facial
A fascia facial is hands-on work: intentional touch, deliberate pressure, and lymphatic drainage massage for the face. The work softens the hold the fascia has on the face, so it looks more lifted and less held.
It feels deep but not painful, and I adjust the pressure to you. Most clients find it deeply relaxing.
How it differs from a skin-focused facial
Both are facials. They work at different depths.
| Skin-focused facial | Fascia facial | |
|---|---|---|
| Works on | The skin’s surface | The fascia beneath the skin |
| You’ll notice | Clearer, smoother, more hydrated skin | Visible lift and contour |
| At Altru | Korean Aqua Peel, Back Facial | Restorative Buccal Facial, Facial Architecture Ritual |
Both have a place, and many of my clients have both.
Which one should I book?
- Clearer, smoother, more hydrated skin: the Korean Aqua Peel.
- Visible lift and definition: the Restorative Buccal Facial or the Facial Architecture Ritual.
- A shorter first try of fascia work: the Facial Architecture Ritual.
- The skin on your back: the Back Facial.
My fascia facials
Restorative Buccal Facial · 90 minutes · $250
My signature fascia facial. Buccal massage through the cheek, lymphatic drainage massage, scalp massage, and fascia work across the face, jaw and neck.
Facial Architecture Ritual · 50 minutes · $140
External fascia work with lymphatic drainage. The shorter way into fascia work, and a good first session.
When you’ll see results
The change is visible the same day: a more lifted, defined look. A series of six weekly sessions builds change that holds, and monthly maintenance keeps it.
Can you combine them?
Yes. A favorite pairing is the Restorative Buccal Facial with a Korean Aqua Peel, finished with a red light add-on: sculpting work, fresh clarity and a calm finish in one visit.
